"Ideal for anyone who wants a bullnose 96 to drive more than wrench on. Attractive in the somewhat more unusual white color."

Description

The car was purchased in 2010 at Classic Cars Bilmarknaden by a father and son with a genuine passion for Saab. The car was in fair condition at the time of purchase, with almost no rust but with poor paintwork. Over the years leading up to the fall of 2012, the car was carefully restored with new paint and a mechanical overhaul. Parts of the car's restoration can still be seen on the website garaget.org. Mechanically, the engine and brakes were gone through during the restoration, and the radiator was also replaced in 2017.

The current owner purchased the car in 2022 and has driven it only a few thousand km in total, keeping it stored indoors and under cover.

Condition

  • Mechanical condition

The car starts easily and runs well. Everything works, except for the horn. The brakes work well but the pedal travel is a bit long, which should be a matter of adjustment.

  • Interior condition

Very fine original interior with few signs of use. The rubber mats were, as is typically the case, cracked and have been replaced with custom-made textile mats in a sober dark gray color from Top ´n´ Trim. Two small holes in the headliner. A period-correct and very charming child car seat is included with the car.

  • Exterior condition

The paint is in fine condition, as is the chrome, with few signs of use. The rear fenders are made of plastic, which is not entirely uncommon for restored 96s. Good whitewall tires that suit the car, mounted on fine original wheels. The white sidewalls can also be removed. The trunk lid emblem is from a Saab 96 from 1964 or later, but it suits the overall look well.

  • General condition

A very nice and well-restored example of a white bullnose Saab, once a common sight on the roads of the 1960s but increasingly rare today.

Owner's comment

I have owned the car since spring 2022 and driven it to meets in the local area. In total during these years, I have driven approximately 900–1,000 km. Never driven in rain during my ownership. Stored indoors during winter and always kept in a carport during summer.
