Description
This car was bought new by a farmer in Osby, who was very careful about it and was mostly stored in his garage. When it was purchased he paid extra to get it Tectyltreated “Rust protection” before delivery and that’s saved it from rust. When he died a local car dealer took over Opel and parked it in his collection. The current owner has owned for a year and doesn’t have the time to enjoy it.

Original paint that’s worn well is a little matte. The right front wing is probably changed as it has a slightly different color, as well as a rust damage on the rear edge. Keep it in this condition or polish it up.

Facts about the model
Opel Rekord P1 hette de första två åren Opel Olympia Rekord P. Den presenterades i augusti 1957 och ersatte föregående modellen Opel Olympia Rekord. Den var större än sin föregångare och hade både fram och bak fått panoramafönster som fortsatte runt hörnen. På det sättet efterliknade bilen de populära amerikanska modellerna från GM och även koncernsläktingen Vauxhall Victor FA, som presenterades några månader tidigare.
Opel Rekord P1 var i Västtyskland den näst bäst säljande modellen under de år den fanns, slagen bara av den mindre och billigare Volkswagen typ 1. Modellen blev trots det inte så långlivad, utan ersattes på sommaren 1960 av Rekord P2. Den gamla karossen fortsatte att tillverkas fram till 1962 under namnet Opel 1200, en förenklad lågprisversion.
Om karossen var ny och moden var tekniken desto äldre. 1500-motorn var i stort sett identisk med den som satt i Opel Olympia 1937.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
