Description
The car has been in the neighborhood of Luleå northern Sweden since new, with the same owner from 1992 to 2014. It has always been in the garage and barely driven in the winter. In the summer of 2018 it was bought by a Volvo enthusiast and journalist for motor magazine Teknikens Värld you can read about this documented journey from Luleå to Gothenburg. The engine feels refreshed and the car is good on the road. It's fun to drive. The body is mostly original paint with a nice interior.

Facts about the model
Design wise, the 480 is considered a milestone with its flat low profile, pop up headlights and glass tailgate that’s borrowed form and function from legendary 1800 ES (1972-73).
The interior was as avant-garde as was the exterior. The designer was the Englishman Peter Horburys and his design team, Horbury later became Volvo's design director after the legend Jan Wilsgaard. The entire dashboard was inspired by the cockpit of a fighter jet and the rear seat was designed with two separate seats – the Volvo 480 is an authentic 2 + 2.
Engine wise, 480 ES was initially with 1.7-liter aspirated with 109 hp, but the Turbo model (debut 1988) won eleven extra hp, totaling 120 hp. Better was that the torque was improved, the 480 Turbo has significantly better to drive and more sporty. In design terms, the Turbo version distinguishes itself by using color coded bumper and front lower spoiler. More gauges and the funky trip computer with seven individual steps are standard for the 480 Turbo model.
