Beschreibung
This particular motorcycle is located on Gotland and was purchased in 1993 as a learner bike. It was only used sparingly and was taken off the road fairly soon thereafter. After a long period in storage, it was brought out again in 2023 and started up. At the same time, it underwent a major service at a motorcycle workshop, during which the carburetors were ultrasonically cleaned and fitted with new rebuild kits and jets. New hoses and tires were installed, and the process was completed with an inspection at the official vehicle inspection station. All this work was carried out because the owner had intended to start using it again. The tire replacement alone cost over SEK 7,000 in 2023, according to the included receipt (see image). After the 2023 inspection, the motorcycle has not been used. One of the rearview mirrors broke when the bike was recently taken out; the owner has ordered two new mirrors, which will be included with the sale.
The odometer shows just under 13,000 km, which could very well be accurate since it has seen very little use since 1993, but this cannot be guaranteed.
The current owner inherited the motorcycle from his father, a well-known entrepreneur and car enthusiast who owned several collector vehicles. The bike has been part of the family’s collection since 1993. The heirs have now decided to sell the motorcycle and hope it will go to someone who appreciates 1980s bikes.
In Sweden, this Honda qualifies under vintage vehicle regulations for motorcycles older than 40 years. This means it is exempt from periodic inspections and from road tax.
This is a remote auction. The images and information about the motorcycle and its technical condition have been provided by the owner. BWA has not inspected the motorcycle in person at the seller’s location.
Teknische Daten
Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand
-
Zustand technisch
An air-cooled four-stroke 249 cc parallel twin engine that produces 27 hp with twin carburetors and dual exhausts. The gearbox has 6 speeds, which was a selling point when it was new.
A major service was carried out in 2023, at which time new tires were also fitted. Starts easily and runs well. -
Zustand Exterieur
The original paint and decals are in good condition. However, some of the engine’s aluminum parts have oxidized during storage. There is also some surface rust on the chrome components—see photos. A thorough polishing of the aluminum would be needed to restore a really clean, shiny finish.
The exhaust systems look somewhat worn. One has been repaired for rust rather crudely, and the other has a crack. Replacing the mufflers would significantly improve the overall appearance. -
Zustand gesamt
A perfect entry-level bike for anyone who appreciates classic Hondas. It can be ridden as is and improved gradually over time.
