Beschreibung
Saab initially intended for the 9000 to remain in production alongside the 9-5 for a period, but the launch of the 9-5 proved so successful that the 9000 was discontinued after the 1998 model year.
As previously mentioned, this car requires some attention. There is corrosion around the wheel arches, as well as a number of scratches and scuff marks on the bodywork. It is uncertain how much could be improved through polishing, although the car does not appear to have been polished for a long time.
The car has remained within the same family since new, with most of its mileage covered during the first ten to fifteen years. In more recent years, it has only been driven occasionally, covering very few kilometres annually.
The service book was completed during the car’s earlier years, and according to the owner, it was subsequently serviced by her husband.
The car is now being sold in its current condition, as age is beginning to take its toll and the owner has decided to stop driving. The final inspection date is 31 July, so the car should be expected to have a driving prohibition in place at the time of delivery.
Teknische Daten
Beurteilung Fahrzeugzustand
-
Zustand technisch
The engine, gearbox and brakes all feel to be in good condition. No visible oil leaks were found on the ground beneath the car. It has not been inspected by us on a lift, and unfortunately no underside photographs are available.
There was surface rust on the brake discs at the time of the test drive, but this disappeared during driving. The ABS and airbag warning lights are illuminated, and it is difficult to determine the cause. Clearing the fault codes may help in part.
The air conditioning cools as it should. A new battery has been fitted, and the exhaust system was replaced recently. -
Zustand Interieur
The interior is in good condition, although it would benefit from a thorough professional detail. The potential is certainly there. There is some minor wear on the driver’s seat backrest, reportedly caused by the husband always wearing braces. There are no holes, so a leather treatment should help improve it.
-
Zustand Exterieur
There are several areas that require attention if the car is to be brought up to a truly fine standard. There is corrosion around both rear wheel arches, as well as on the right rear wing. There are scuff marks on both sides of the front bumper and a mark on the right rear door. In addition, the car has a number of scratches and blemishes. The trim and light units are in usable condition. The windscreen was replaced recently. The original alloy wheels are fitted with 12-year-old Michelin tyres with good tread.
-
Zustand gesamt
Mechanically sound, but with a body in poorer condition. There are also some electrical issues that require attention.

Fakten zum Modell
The Saab 9000 featured distinctive aerodynamic styling, with a strong emphasis on safety and comfort. It was known for its spacious interior and high-quality materials.
Throughout its production run, the 9000 was offered with a range of different engines, including turbocharged versions that delivered strong performance.
It was also among the earlier cars to offer advanced safety features and technology, including anti-lock brakes (ABS) and airbags.
The 9000 was available in several versions, including the 9000 Turbo and 9000 Aero, both of which were performance-oriented models.
The A50 was introduced as an anniversary edition to celebrate Saab’s 50-year history as a car manufacturer, hence the A50 designation.
