Restored by the previous owner, a well-known enthusiast based in Vilhelmina. He disassembled the car and carried out a full respray, both inside and out. He also fitted new rubber seals around the doors and windshield, overhauled the engine and braking system, and upgraded the front brakes from drums to discs for improved road safety. New interior components were installed, including door panels, front seat upholstery, headliner, and felt trim in the door openings. The restoration was completed in 2019, and the car passed inspection at the vehicle testing station without remarks.
The current owner acquired the car in 2020 and continued with further improvements. She installed new carpets and added newly manufactured padding to the dashboard. In addition, new bumpers with stylish U.S.-style overriders were fitted, along with a new rear muffler. Since 2020, she has driven the car approximately 3,000 km. Since its restoration, the car has been kept in a heated garage. This is a highly invested-in PV now being offered at auction. The car is being sold due to a change in circumstances.

B18 engine producing 75 horsepower, equipped with a later Stromberg carburetor and an alternator. The engine has been overhauled, although the cylinder head has not been converted for unleaded fuel. The braking system has been refurbished, featuring front disc brakes. Four-speed manual transmission.

Very nice interior. The rear seat is the original from 1964, showing minor wear and a small hole in the backrest. The upholstery on the front seats, door panels, rubber floor mats, and headliner is all new. The dashboard has also been fitted with new padding. Equipped with modern seat belts.

Restored body, painted both inside and out in Volvo’s original color. New rubber seals fitted around the doors, windshield, and more. New front and rear bumpers installed, equipped with U.S.-style overriders. The grille is original and shows a nice patina, with two screw holes remaining from period auxiliary light brackets. The car is fitted with widened steel wheels, tire size 185/65-15.

The Volvo PV was synonymous with the Swedish “folkhem” era.
The years during which the Volvo PV 444/544 was produced coincided with a time of rapid development in Sweden. First presented in 1944 and produced all the way until the autumn of 1965, the PV became a central part of life for generations of Swedes. For many families, the PV was their first car.
The model also marked a breakthrough for Volvo on the international stage—most notably becoming a success in the United States.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
