Sold new in Luxembourg in March 2002 and registered for traffic in Sweden in September 2007. The first service in Sweden was carried out in August that same year at 92,000 km. The current owner (the estate) purchased the car in April 2016 and has covered just over 5,000 km in 9 years, despite an expressed ambition to use it as a daily driver. The most recent approved inspection was carried out on 2023-07-25.

Engine, gearbox and chassis feel normal for the mileage, everything works as it should. Nice original wheels with Bridgestone Potenza from 2007, with good tread and low mileage. Studded winter tires are included.

Smart and beautifully red leather interior in good condition, with the usual entry wear on the left side of the driver’s seat. Door panels, headliner and carpets are in good condition after just over 150,000 km of use. The sunroof works well and the AC blows cold.

Original paint in presentable and attractive condition relative to the mileage. Small hole in the sill area at the right rear and some paint loss/spots under the front bumper. Slight swelling and surface rust where the sill meets the floor in a couple of places, likely also affected by a misplaced jack or lift.

Good-value mid-sizer with — despite, or perhaps thanks to, its Ford genes — a dignified presence and a pleasant feel.

Fakten zum Modell
The X-Type was Jaguar’s first model in its segment and was built on the same platform as the Ford Mondeo Mk3 (as Jaguar was owned by Ford at the time). However, they did not share bodywork — the X-Type had its own design with distinct Jaguar features: round headlights, chrome grille, and classic wood and leather details in the interior. At its introduction in 2001/2002, the X-Type was offered with all-wheel drive (AWD) and V6 engines of 2.5 and 3.0 liters.
Later, more affordable versions with front-wheel drive and even diesel engines were introduced. It was praised for comfort, design, and interior quality, but criticized for being too closely related to the Ford Mondeo. Despite the criticism, the X-Type became one of Jaguar’s best-selling models of the period.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
