Zustand technisch
The chassis is in good technical condition. It starts easily, and the 114hp six-cylinder engine runs smoothly and comfortably. Everything seems to be functioning well. While it hasn't been inspected from underneath on a lift, based on what could be observed, it appeared to be in good shape.
-
Zustand Interieur
The interior is very cozy and in excellent condition. The seats have been reupholstered, but the door panels are reportedly in their original state. Soft and fine fabric mats cover the floor, along with a protective mat in the back. The instrumentation, steering wheel, and other details are wonderfully preserved in their original state. The heater's function is uncertain, and there's an original radio that is currently non-functional.
-
Zustand Exterieur
The paintwork is glossy and in good condition, showing some patina and minor cracking. The chrome is shiny and nice, though with some signs of patina. The glass is in good shape, and the wheels and tires look fine. The engine and trunk compartments are in good condition considering the age of the car.

Zustand gesamt
A beautiful quality car that provides both driver and passengers with a delightful experience and a nostalgic journey with dignity and excellent functionality. For onlookers, it's a visual treat as this vehicle glides by. An American dream with roots in the 1930s, yet still exuding the post-war optimism and prosperity. A delightful classic that embodies a wonderful sense of nostalgia.

Fakten zum Modell
Production at Chrysler came to an abrupt halt in 1942 with the onset of World War II, in which the United States was also involved after the attack on Pearl Harbor. American automakers had to shift production to military vehicles and equipment.
After the war in 1946, Chrysler quickly resumed car production, initially with pre-war models. These were given new grilles (dollar grins), chrome embellishments, and other features to give the impression of new cars. They continued producing the Windsor as Sedans, Coupés, Convertibles, and Station Wagons. Different lengths and various engines, ranging from straight-sixes to V8s, were offered.
When Chrysler celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1949, new body styles were introduced, including for the Windsor. In the 1950s, the Windsor became a top-of-the-line model for Chrysler. The model persisted in the United States until 1961 and a few more years on vehicles manufactured in Canada. The introduction of the Newport name in the early 1960s might have seemed more exciting, representing a sailing and vacation destination for the well-to-do, compared to the "stuffy" royal connotation. This was during the Kennedy fever era in the USA and around the world.
