Beschreibung
The car comes from an estate. The late owner, Mr. Carlsson, ordered the car new in 1987 from Philipson in Karlstad. He specified it with automatic transmission, ABS, ASD, cruise control, electric windows, alarm system, detachable tow bar, alloy wheels, etc. The total price for the new car came to 297,725 SEK. A complete binder of documentation is included, containing the purchase contract, warranty certificate, and original order form.
The car was delivered in November 1987. Mr. Carlsson, who was meticulous by nature, had custom-fitted seat covers installed at delivery. During the first 12 months, the car was driven just under 3,420 km. The first service was performed at 1,720 km by Philipson in Karlstad. After that, Mr. Carlsson carried out the regular maintenance himself. According to his brother-in-law—who, incidentally, worked as a mechanic at Philipson for over 40 years—Mr. Carlsson preferred to handle the servicing personally. He simply couldn’t imagine entrusting such a delicate task to the Mercedes workshop; that’s how particular he was.
According to the accompanying documents, the car had covered 42,210 km by 1997, when Mr. Carlsson parked it in his garage to preserve it. However, he made sure to start and warm up the engine occasionally.
In October 2024, Mr. Carlsson passed away at the age of 78, and the car is now being sold by his heirs.
Included with the car are the original, unused spare wheel, jack, tool kit, owner’s manual, and rubber floor mats. A nice touch is the specially ordered and completely unused jerry can designed to fit inside the spare wheel.
Since the owner has passed away, the car has been stored in a garage, and the heirs are unsure of when the last service was performed, it is recommended that the buyer carries out a full service. The car passed inspection at Opus in Karlstad on January 14, 2025, without any remarks. It is road-legal until January 2027. In fact, all inspection records since new are included in the binder—and all have been without remarks.

-
Zustand Exterieur
Meticulously maintained. We have found no body damage. On the left rear door, just below the side window, there are two small paint chips/stone chips. The front bumper spoiler has a crack at the bottom right corner—see photos.
The tires are the original Michelins that came with the car in 1987; we’ve checked the date codes. They are still in good condition with no signs of dry rot. -
Zustand gesamt
The overall impression is as close to mint condition as one can expect from a 37-year-old car with just 40,000 km on the clock. There are only a few minor imperfections.
