Fakten zum Modell
This was a thoroughly modernized and updated car compared to its predecessor, while its design paid homage to the iconic E-Type with a retro-inspired look.
The XK8 was powered by V8 engines, paired with five- and six-speed automatic transmissions. Until model year 2002, the XK8 featured a 4.0L naturally aspirated V8, while the XKR came with a supercharged version.
The interior was lavishly appointed, with leather upholstery, thick carpets, and wood trim, creating a warm and luxurious ambiance.
For model year 2006, the second-generation XK debuted, featuring a partially redesigned exterior and an aluminum body for improved performance and efficiency. It premiered at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2005.
The new XK was initially offered with:
3.5L and 4.2L naturally aspirated V8s
4.2L supercharged V8 in the XKR
From 2010, a 5.0L V8
The second generation XK was praised for being quiet and very comfortable, yet producing a thrilling exhaust note under acceleration. It was also known for its reliability, relatively low maintenance costs, and overall ease of ownership.
Production ended in July 2014, when the F-Type took over as Jaguar’s new high-performance GT.
