This Mercedes 170 SB was sold new in Sweden and was first used in 1953. The car has only six owners, the last two of whom have used it very little. Before 2005, the car was repainted. It was substantially restored in 2005, with a new exhaust system, wheel cylinders, master brake cylinder, and a review of the fuel and electrical systems, among other things. Since its restoration in 2005, the car has only been driven a couple times in 2006. The car retains many original features, including the original radio. It has just been standing and stored in a garage since 2006. Many accessories are provided, as shown in the photographs.

The car has not been tested because the fuel system must be overhauled and a new battery must be installed. The car has not been driven since 2006 and requires a start-up service.

Zustand Interieur
The original upholstery and carpeting is worn. There are holes in the driver's seat, the back seat, and the floor mats. The interior, on the other hand, is in great condition.

The car appears to have fared well against more major rust problems. The body appears to be painted, but it is not. The car has multiple dents and scrapes, as well as dry / cracked rubber seals and damage around the petrol cap, as shown in the photographs. The bumper chrome needs to be refinished.

The car is a wonderful investment for those who wish to restore it to its original condition or simply start it up and renovate it mechanically. The automobile meets the requirements for both options.

Mercedes-Benz 170 S är en personbil, tillverkad av den tyska biltillverkaren Mercedes-Benz mellan maj 1949 och augusti 1953.
W136 170 S (1949-51)
Mercedes-Benz första efter krigs konstruktion Typ 170 S var en lyxigare utveckling av W136-temat. På chassisidan märktes en ny framvagn med dubbla länkarmar och skruvfjädrar, samt en större motor. Karossen var ny, men långt ifrån modern, då den uppvisade tydliga drag av mellankrigs modellen W153 230. Bilen tillverkades dels som sedan, dels i två cabriolet utföranden. Trots skillnaderna fick den första versionen av 170 S behålla internkoden W136.
Produktionen uppgick till 28 764 sedan modeller och 2 433 cabrioleter.
W191 170 Sb/DS (1952-53)
Typ 170 Sb/DS efterträdde i januari 1952. Samtidigt som den sexcylindriga W187 220 presenterades, fick 170 S nu en egen internkod. W191 fanns bara med sedan kaross, de exklusiva tvådörrars karosserna byggdes nu med den sexcylindriga motorn. Att det tillkom ett nytt motoralternativ med dieselvarianten 170 DS, var bara ännu ett tecken på att 170 S nu hade degraderats.
Produktionen uppgick till 8 094 Sb och 12 985 DS

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
