This car was used in the Luleå and Piteå regions from 1966 to 1987 before it was stored away due to minor front-end damage (a dent on the front hood and left front fender). In 2016, the car was brought out and sold to a VW collector in Gothenburg, who in 2021, transferred it to Fahlkes VW-service in Åmål. The car was serviced and taken for inspection, passing without any issues. At Fahlkes, a different (used) front hood and left front fender were installed, as the ones on the car had dents from a parking incident in 1987, according to the owner's information.
What's remarkable about the car is that it is entirely unrestored both inside and out, except for the repainted and replaced fenders and hood. The rest of the paint has faded due to the strong midnight sun during the summer months, and the blue color had sensitive pigments. The interior is entirely original, without any damage and only normal wear on the carpets. It's evident from the upholstery, door panels, and steering wheel, among other things, that the car has only covered 6,500 miles.
It's also worth noting that the 1300 model introduced in 1966 is noticeably livelier and more enjoyable to drive compared to the 1200 engine used in previous years.

Fakten zum Modell
The 1966 VW 1300 is a highly sought-after model. In this year, it introduced the new lively 1300 engine with 40 horsepower (compared to the previous 34). Together with other changes such as new wheels with cooling holes (similar to Porsches), a black steering wheel, and buttons, it had a sportier appearance that matched the characteristics of the new engine. The engine makes a significant difference; the car feels livelier and accelerates in a completely different way. At the same time, the narrow bumpers and angled front headlights remained during this and the subsequent model year, before the new, modernized look arrived in the fall of 1967. These details make the 1966 model one of the most coveted among the sixties Beetles. You can recognize it by the '1300' emblem on the rear trunk.

- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
