Mercedes-Benz 260 E from 1987. Back in the day, this model was a restrained, discreet, and confident sedan—equally at home in the parking lot of a Stockholm law firm as it was outside a countryside villa in Skåne. Open the door and you’re greeted by that solid feel and the familiar “Mercedes clunk” when it shuts.
Inside, you find a sober interior with a straight instrument panel, clear gauges, and large buttons. Comfort is, as often in a Mercedes, first-class: wide seats, plenty of legroom, and suspension that smooths out bumps without making the car feel floaty. The engine, a 2.6-liter inline-six, runs evenly and with a calm character. It produces around 160 horsepower, giving the car a stable and secure feel. 0–100 km/h takes about ten seconds, and paired with the classic 4-speed automatic transmission, it delivers smooth performance.
This particular Mercedes is in normal, used condition relative to its mileage. A tow bar and two sets of keys are included with the car. No service book.

Runs well in both engine and drivetrain. The brakes engage evenly and smoothly. The A/C works. According to the owner, the car’s other equipment functions as it should, except that the rear electric windows only work intermittently. The power antenna works but appears to have been repaired.

The interior looks decent. Signs of use such as a small hole and some wear marks on the driver’s seat. The clear coat on the wood trim has some cracking, and there is a repair on the center console. The inside of the driver’s door has been taped along the upper edge. The headliner appears to be in good condition.

The paint and body show signs of age and use—see pictures. The bumpers, too, have seen better days. The car’s underside appears to be in good condition.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
