Starts easily and runs well in engine and drivetrain. Test drove at a calm pace in an industrial area. Responsive throttle and good steering, automatic transmission and brakes. Not checked on a lift, but what could be seen looked reasonable.

Nice combination of leather with customized carpets and wood details. Rubber mats. During testing, the function of controls, buttons, and features was uncertain. It should now be fixed.

Fakten zum Modell
In the 1974 model year, the Series II was introduced with some changes, such as a new grille and higher bumpers, among other updates.
In 1980, the Series III was launched with an update by Pininfarina. Although at first glance there didn’t seem to be many differences, a host of small adjustments improved interior space, increased glass areas, reduced drag, and gave the car a more modern image.
On the technical side, the car retained the tried-and-tested basic concept with, for example, cast iron, but with better performance and, most notably, lower fuel consumption.
For the 1987 model year, a more comprehensive upgrade was introduced under a new model name, XJ40. In addition to a new body, which was still unmistakably recognizable, the interior was upgraded. The new J-gate gear shifter and new instrumentation were added. New 2.9 or 3.6-liter engines, now with both block and head in aluminum, were introduced, reducing weight by 25-30%.
The X 300 model was introduced in 1995 with yet another facelift, particularly with a new front and rear design. Some features from earlier models, such as dual round headlights, triangular tail lights, and a rounder hood, were now back. Still offering a variety of six-cylinder engines (3.2L and 4.0L) and a 12-cylinder 6.0L, along with various equipment options, the most common version was the Sovereign 4.0L, with 33,463 units produced between 1994 and 1997.
