When Nielsen passed away a little over a year ago, two car-enthusiastic international engineers — who both work at Volvo Trucks — purchased the vehicle at the estate auction. As a hobby, they enjoy using their technical expertise to bring older, dormant cars back to life.
Among other things, they replaced the speedometer gear driving the odometer, which had shown the same reading at inspections for at least the past 12–13 years. When the odometer stopped working, it had likely just rolled over once, meaning the car has covered just under 120,000 km.
The most recent and final approved inspection was carried out on May 10, 2022.

Zustand technisch
The current owners have, of course, carried out a general service but have also repaired the odometer, which had been non-functional since at least 2012 according to records and inspection documentation. In addition, they have installed new wiring, including for the headlights. In the video, you can hear some extra noise from a leak in the exhaust system — this will be repaired or replaced.

Zustand Interieur
Under the seat covers, the current owners discovered a well-preserved original upholstery in good condition. The foam padding in the headrests is somewhat dry and crackles when pressed. Otherwise, the carpets, headliner, door panels, and dashboard are all in good condition. The wood trim is intact, and the glove compartment lid appears to have been refinished separately, while the other wooden parts are dry but undamaged.

Zustand Exterieur
An older repaint, now carefully polished to a fine finish. The chrome fender trims (popularly known as “Solvalla arches,” at least in the Stockholm area) don’t appear to be hiding any rust, and the car presents a neat and attractive exterior impression. Original “baroque” wheels in good condition, fitted with older tires — the right front shows uneven wear on the outer edge.

Zustand gesamt
Presentable, pleasant, and more enjoyable than the W115 models with their four-cylinder petrol or diesel engines. Straight-six engines are among the finest and, from an engineering standpoint, the most inherently balanced engine designs.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
