This Saab Sonett has had the same owner since August 1976. The car was fully restored between 1987 and 1988. The restoration included a body lift, rust repairs, brake renovation, engine overhaul including the heads, transmission overhaul, radiator renovation, and a new clutch. The Saab also received a new headliner and new interior, excluding the door panels and seats. Since then, the Saab has been driven sparingly, totaling about 30,000 kilometers after the restoration. The owner has personally handled oil changes and lubrication annually. The Sonett is exempt from tax and inspections.
The car comes with various parts including a new rubber seal for the windshield, new weather strips for the doors, front blinkers (one new complete set and four used lenses), original rims with hubcaps, and more. Additionally, extensive documentation is included, such as driving logs, Saab literature in the form of books and brochures, and complete volumes of Sonett-bladet. There is roughly one moving box worth of material. Also included are some analog photographs of the car.
This is a good and solid Sonett in a drivable condition, perfect for summer outings.

Zustand technisch
Easy to start and sounds like a V4 should. Easy to drive with a smooth column shifter. Sprightly and responsive. It feels like the mechanical components are in good condition.

Nice and well-maintained interior. Some wear on the seat cushions, but nothing significant. The door panels are in good condition with minimal wear, and the headliner is in good and clean condition. The floor mats are intact and in good condition with signs of use. The instrument panel is in good condition.

Older repaint in good condition. The car was previously red in color. Very nice and well-maintained "soccer ball" rims. The panels have a good fit.

Fakten zum Modell
The Saab Sonett was introduced in 1956 and developed through several versions until the model was discontinued in 1974. The Sonett II was presented in 1966, with the fiberglass bodies manufactured at ASJ in Arlöv, Skåne. In 1966, only 28 cars were produced, with an additional 230 made in 1967. When Saab began using V4 engines in their vehicles, licensed from Ford, the Sonett was also equipped with the V4 engine, necessitating a redesign of the hood to accommodate it. A total of 1,868 units of the Sonett II, including the V4 version, were produced. New features for the 1968 model year included a Sonett V4 emblem on the hood, rubber bumper guards on the front, a black-painted instrument panel with a glove compartment, and wider rims.

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
