This car was bought by the current owner in the mid-sixties and has lived its life in the area around Tingsryd. The car was garaged after 12 years of service. The owner left the car be garaged for a few years but started it up at regular intervals. In 1983 he took it out and serviced it and registered it again then it had only been driven 60,000km. The car also got a new paint in its original color, dark mocha brown and fitted with new carpets. The upholstery is original and is in an unusually good condition. The body and underbody, is also in rare good condition, with all the details intact and straight and nice body panels, correct features and more. We would like to say that the car is in almost uniquely nice collector's condition.

Unusually nice and original upholstery, Carpets changed to a version that deviates from the original. (Original mats are available for purchase nowadays).

Nice and complete, no rust but some small scratches and paint chips on engine door and front wing are found. A polishing would make the car great.

Fakten zum Modell
Zwitter är tyska för hybrid. Modellen kallas så för den är en underbar blandning av gammalt och nytt. Det är en mellanmodell som bara byggdes under ett knappt halvår, från hösten 1952 till våren 1953. Modellen har mycket nytt som exempelvis den nya instrumentbrädan som förknippas med oval-modellerna, likaså de nya stötfångarna som fick hänga med ända till 1967. Nya baklampor, nya säten osv. Den har dock det gamla utseendet med delad bakruta, men nu i moderniserat utförande med en kromad dekorlist runt glasrutorna.
Denna blandning av nya detaljer där det mesta är ändrat till oval-utförande, men den gamla delade bakrutan hänger kvar har förbryllat många. Varför gjorde VW så, för några månaders produktion? Detta gör modell-utförandet till ett hett samlarobjekt och en av de mest intressanta bilarna i en samling. (En sådan här modell saknades exempelvis i den fina samlingen i VW muséet i Pålsboda).

General information about the condition of the vehicles .
- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
