General condition
A car for anyone wanting to cruise around in one of the 1930s' most classic sports cars with a folding windscreen and cut-down doors and large spoke wheels – here you sit "on the rear axle" and can enjoy speed and wind even at modest tempo. The feeling of being part in an Agatha Christie novel is palpable – it doesn't get more British sports car aura than this. This example's condition and history are a flawless combination for those who appreciate this era of motoring, a classic collector's and enthusiast's car.

Facts about the model
During the 1930s a number of different models were produced which were named as letter types, including J-type and P-type. The "J" Midget is regarded as an iconic sports car and laid the foundation for MG's reputation for building light, nimble and enjoyable cars. According to records, 2,083 examples of the 2-seater sports roadster were manufactured 1932-34. The engines were 847 cc with overhead camshaft and twin SU carburettors of approximately 36 bhp. The bodies were two-seater open roadsters.
In 1935 W.R. Morris also sold MG to the Nuffield Organisation. In 1968 MG became part of British Leyland and in 1980 it was over. Although the marque lived on with Rover and later BMW, by 2005 it was finished again. However, Nanjing Automobile Group has now dusted off the name MG once more. But that is quite another story.
