Description
The car has had few owners and is today in very fine condition. The restoration was carried out with a focus on quality results, and the body appears free from filler repairs, which gives an honest impression.
To give the car a more rally-inspired character, the suspension has been lightly modified, which together with the five auxiliary lights gives it a rally look. A sport steering wheel and tachometer enhance the right feeling behind the wheel.
Technically, the car is equipped with, among other things, a stainless steel exhaust system. The handsome wheels were purchased new about two years ago, together with the tires. The tires have since covered no more than approximately 100 km and are thus very sparingly used.
The result is a well-cared-for car with few owners, restoration history, and a rally-inspired appearance.
For those who appreciate classic Volvos, a 1966 Amazon 121 represents much of what is associated with the marque's 1960s: elegant Swedish design, simple and durable mechanics, and a construction intended to work in everyday use – year after year. Included with the car are steel wheels with tires, hubcaps for these, and the original steering wheel.

Facts about the model
The 121, the two-door version, is regarded by many as the most beautiful Amazon variant. With almost Italian lines – chief designer Jan Wilsgaard drew inspiration from the Italian cars of the era when he styled the Amazon in the early 1950s – and finished in black paint, the Amazon is both understated and elegant at the same time. According to Wilsgaard, American cars, and above all the Kaiser, were also a source of inspiration.
The well-proven B18 drivetrain with a 4-speed manual gearbox is easy to service and maintain, and parts for the Amazon are still plentiful, including newly manufactured items.
For the first eight years, the Amazon was built at Volvo's original Lundbyverken plant, but with the opening of the Torslanda plant in 1964, Amazon production was also phased over to the brand-new facility. The Amazon was also built in Ghent, Belgium, and the model was additionally assembled in Halifax (Canada), Durban (South Africa), and Arica (Chile). In 1969, Volvo dropped the earlier B18 engine in the Amazon in favor of the newer and larger B20, which gave extra power to an already strong Volvo model. The last Volvo Amazon was built on July 3, 1970.
