Over the past ten years, the car has been driven just over 4,000 km. It has received the necessary maintenance and servicing throughout the years. Minor repairs — including a new window crank, a new ignition lock, and a new muffler — have been carried out within the last decade.
Included with the car are the original owner’s manuals in both German and Swedish, two sets of keys, extra protective floor mats, and a new hood insulation pad ready for installation. The car passed its inspection without remarks on August 25 this year and is ready to drive.

Zustand technisch
The car starts easily and runs smoothly and quietly. During a short drive around town and in residential areas, everything appeared to function well — including steering, automatic transmission, handling, and brakes. It has not been tested at higher speeds, nor has it been inspected on a lift, but the visible vital components appeared to be in good condition. At the most recent inspection in August, the car received praise for its condition and overall state underneath.

Zustand Interieur
Nice and well-preserved interior with pleasant and comfortable velour upholstery. The seats and rear bench offer good support and comfort. Door panels, carpet mats, and headliner are all in fine condition. The steering wheel, controls, dashboard, wood trim, and gauges are in good shape and function as they should. All electrical functions and instruments appear to work well, though the AC system needs attention; heating works properly. Period-correct Becker Mexico stereo with cassette, though the power antenna does not fully extend. Extra protective floor mats are included.

Zustand Exterieur
Nice paintwork that appears largely original, though some panels show a slightly different shade — it’s unclear why these areas were repainted. There is some “blistering” with small bubbles in one corner of the trunk lid near the rear window. The chrome around the wheel arches can be a potential risk area. Glass, chrome, trim, and lighting details are all in good condition considering the car’s age and mileage. Good wheels with some minor paint flaking and older Hankook tires that still have solid tread. The sunroof operates well and is watertight. Engine bay and luggage compartment are in similar condition to the rest of the car.

A car that came fully equipped with all the luxury, features, and safety of its time — and one that demonstrates the exceptionally high standard of Mercedes quality from that era, even after more than 40 years on the road with relatively low mileage. The same still holds true today. This coupé is a fine classic and enthusiast’s car.

Fakten zum Modell
The entire creation was lower, sleeker, and more aerodynamic than its predecessor. The engines featured aluminum blocks instead of cast iron and were available in both six- and eight-cylinder versions. This was the first Mercedes model to feature both airbags and ABS brakes. Much of the car’s design was refined aerodynamically and ergonomically to reduce fuel consumption and enhance safety.
The coupé version, the C126, was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1981 and was offered exclusively with the eight-cylinder engine. It was an impressive machine — nearly five meters long and over 1.8 meters wide. Like previous Mercedes coupés, it was a nod to the U.S. market, with its elegant two-door hardtop design. Just like the sedan version, it was packed with the luxury and safety features of its time. In 1984, customers could choose between the 380 SEC with 204 hp or the 500 SEC with 231 hp. In total, 74,060 coupé versions were produced between 1981 and 1991.

- At this auction, many vehicles have been included in car collections and have been stored (mothballed) for a long time. For this reason, they are described from a collector's perspective and may need technical reviews and maintenance service - oil, battery replacement, new tires, brake review, etc. - before they can be used. .
- During the auction days information about a vehicle may be updated up to the day before the auction ends. When you bid at the end of the auction period - and also if you have made an earlier bid - we therefore ask you to read the descriptions carefully, in case something has been changed due to new information.
Important to know before placing your bids!
- Once you have called in an item and the reservation price is reached we want you to deposit the entire purchase amount into our client funds account before retrieval can take place.
- When you need to retrieve a called in object we want you to examine it carefully. If you consider that the item does not match our description you do not need to complete the purchase. In this case the deposited purchase sum and the entry fee are refunded.
- If you do not examine the item on the spot the call charge will be debited, but you do not have to complete the deal.
- If you make the entire purchase exclusively at a distance you have 14 days to cancel, but must return the item at your own expense.
- Your shipping costs and other costs are not reimbursed when the right of withdrawal is exercised. Swedish court applies.
- For items that have not been collected within 14 days storage costs may be charged.
