"A carefully looked after car with a good engine, gearbox and brakes. It’s an all original car that’s not been renovated apart from new paint and pergamoid roof sometime in the 1960´s."

Beschreibung

It was imported by my grandmother in the spring of 1929 to the farm stone Myckleby Parish on Orust. It was then one of Orust very first cars. 1969 sold the car to a relative Ragnar Berntsson in Ellös.
About 15 years ago I managed to buy the car and have since cared for the car and used for some weddings. Some small repairs made like replacement bearings in front wheels, cleaning tank, replacement ignition cables and spark plugs, replacement oils in motor and gearbox etc.

Fakten zum Modell

Graham-Paige Motors Corp. was an American automobile manufacturer that built cars in Detroit, Michigan between 1927 and 1941. Was founded: 1927. Ceased operations: 1962 Headquarters: Evansville, Indiana, USA. Founder: Robert C. Graham, Ray A. Graham, Joseph B. Graham A Graham-Paige won the 1929 Monte Carlo rally.
1931 the name Paige disappeared and the cars were now called Graham only. 1932 came the Blue Streak model, one of the first American cars with a hint of aerodynamically designed bodywork. 1934 sold a 8 cylinder model with compressor. The following year the eights disappeared and were replaced by a cylinder engine with a compressor.
1935 negotiations were conducted with Reo on a merger, but the only result was that Graham used Reo bodies under 1936 and 1937.
1938 came the innovative "Spirit of Motion" bodywork, where the radiator and front fenders leaned forward. In Sweden it was called irreverently for "like Coffin Nose". The design was a bit too advanced and the cars sold poorly. The model remained until the summer of 1940.
1939, Graham was contacted by Hupmobile, who bought the press tools for Cords 810 bodywork, but lacked the resources to start manufacturing themselves. Graham undertook the production, against selling a variant under his own name. The production started in the spring of 1940, but the bodywork was complicated and expensive to manufacture and Graham lost even more money. The last car was built in November 1941.
