For 101 years, it has been part of the same Jämtland family – the Ford from 1924.
Now someone is being sought to take it over – and perhaps begin a new family saga?
It’s not just the technology and design that make vintage vehicles so fascinating.
Equally compelling is the role they’ve played in people’s lives, sometimes across several generations.
That’s certainly the case with this Ford Model T, which was sold on a June day in 1924 by the car dealership Knut Wiklander in Östersund, the exclusive Ford distributor in Jämtland at the time.
Today, it still travels the same roads around Hackås, driven by the third generation. But now, there is no one left to care for the family heirloom, and so Bilweb Auctions has been tasked with selling it.
"It’s better if an enthusiast takes care of it and keeps driving it," says the current owner.
In the 1980s, the car was carefully restored to a very fine condition that still holds up today: the engine, paint, upholstery, and soft top were all refurbished. The beautiful original tools remain, as do the dealer’s nameplates, still riveted to the body.
A piece of American – and Jämtland – heritage!
