A fantastic opportunity has now opened up for all Volvo collectors and enthusiasts. One of Sweden’s rarest and most sought-after sports cars is now up for auction: a classic 1957 Volvo Sport P1900 – a true piece of iconic Volvo history – now up for auction.
This car, number 15 of a total of 67 produced, was completed in Lundby on August 30, 1956, and delivered to Bollnäs on New Year’s Eve that same year. It was registered for road use on January 31, 1957. In 1975, the car – together with another Volvo Sport – was purchased by a technical student and motor enthusiast in Östersund. He began work on the chassis and mechanics before selling the car in 1984, at that time complete but in need of cosmetic restoration. The new owner in Småland finished the car. It was originally light blue (color code 29), although it is unclear when it was repainted. Otherwise, much of the car remains in original condition.
In 1994, the car was acquired by a Volvo collector from Uppsala, who frequently displayed it at events and gatherings before it later spent most of its time in storage. It is now being sold by his daughter.
The estimated value is between SEK 900,000 and 1,050,000, and the bidding closes on November 20 at 10:00 AM.
