The School Bus That Was Resurrected

Stefan Karlsson, a retired hauler, felt an incredible joy when he discovered his old school bus behind a barn in the Skara area in 2000. He jumped out of his truck and exclaimed, “Wow, this is the very Volvo bus my brother and I rode 35 years ago!” He knew he had to save it.

The restoration took more than 20 years, with everything rebuilt from the ground up. The result is a bus that looks better than new. Now, at 76 years old, Stefan wants to downsize his car collection, which is why the bus will be sold on May 26th at the classic car auction by Bilweb Auctions.

Significant sums were spent on the restoration, with all work on the body, interior, and mechanics outsourced to professionals. Once the bus was completed, it was used for weddings and events. The model was called "spetsnos" (pointed nose) in its day and was based on Volvo's smallest truck, the LV101, which shared its technology and front with the car that was the predecessor to the Suggan.

For a buyer, this bus could be particularly interesting as it is a manageable size, easy to drive, and the only known one of its kind in Sweden.
