The American classic car giant Hagerty has released its annual forecast for cars expected to see the highest value increases in 2025. Among the models featured on the list is one frequently seen at Bilweb Auctions: the Volvo P1800.
Hagerty’s list, titled the “2025 Bull Market List,” references the term for a rising market, "Bull," as opposed to a declining "Bear" market. Hagerty is a heavyweight on the American classic car scene, known as the world's largest provider of collector vehicle insurance. Additionally, they are a media powerhouse and a significant player in online auctions.
The 2025 “Bull Market” list includes 11 cars, ranging from the Jaguar E-Type to the Lamborghini Gallardo, and of course, the Swedish pride, the Volvo P1800. According to Hagerty, the P1800 has increased in value by 48% since 2019 and is expected to continue trending upwards. Hagerty predicts that it is particularly the Millennial generation—those born between 1981 and 1996—who will be willing to pay high prices for the P1800, which they describe as a "cult classic."
Since its launch in 2017, Bilweb Auctions has been Sweden’s largest auction site for the Volvo P1800. In total, 61 units have been sold, with the most expensive being the 1966 model given to then-Crown Prince Carl Gustav for his 20th birthday in 1966. That car was sold in January this year for 640,000 SEK.
This is not the first time Hagerty has featured a Volvo on its “Bull Market List.” In 2023, they highlighted the Volvo 240 wagon as a predicted value climber—a prediction that has proven correct. All 240 models have shown strong price growth in recent years.
