The Norrmalmstorg heist and hostage incident is most recognized as the inspiration for the term Stockholm syndrome. It happened in 1973 at Norrmalmstorg in Stockholm, Sweden. It was the first time in Sweden that a criminal incident was broadcast live on television.

The getaway car from the Norrmalmstorg hiest in 1973 is possibly the most renowned car in Swedish criminal history. And that Ford Mustang is currently on auction on Bilweb Auctions October auction number 2.

It's super exciting because we're bringing a true celebrity to the auctions, and we feel the car will spark many people's interest. The Mustang is now a well-preserved restoration project that requires extensive work to be restored to its former glory. Because of its celebrity, we value the car at SEK 200 - 250,000.

The Brazilian embassy purchased the Mustang new in 1970 and kept it until the autumn of 1971, when it was purchased by policeman Kenth Svensson. Clark Olofsson and Janne Olsson robbed Kreditbanken in Norrmalmstorg when Kenth was on duty. When the robbers were looking for a quick getaway car, such as a BMW or a Mustang, Kenth was first in line with his almost new Mustang. The criminals never used it because the heist ended with tear gas in the bank, but vintage photos shows it parked outside the bank and ready to go. F
